Serving the Bay area for over 28 years by providing hands-on Spanish Language Workshops to help
professionals in the healthcare field. Acquire and sharpen your Spanish medical vocabulary
and insight for working with the Latino Community.

 

OVERVIEW

 

"Open to people of all levels of Spanish ability, our immersion medical courses have been designed by Ronda Calef, founder of WEEKEND
en español®, in conjunction with Barbara Newlin - nurse practitioner and AIDS consultant for the World Health Organization -
and Dr.Tomás Magaña graduate of UCSF Medical School."

 

We offer medical personnel total immersion, hands-on Spanish language One-Day Workshops where participants will have a chance to role-play typical scenarios, as well as ask specific questions particular to your circumstances. Our courses include a meal and are supplemented by a rich packet of materials that can be used long after the course is over for reference and further study. The Workshop reviews:
 

  • greetings

  • body parts and organs

  • symptoms and complaints

  • conditions and diseases

  • patient interviewing

  • doing a physical exam using medical instruments

  • giving instructions, solutions, and health education

 

You'll have a chance to role-play typical scenarios, as well as ask specific questions particular to your circumstances. Our courses are supplemented by a rich packet of materials that you will use long after the event is over, for reference and further study.

We offer specialty Medical Spanish Workshops for OBGYN & Midwives, and Social Workers & Psychologists/Mental Health Workers. We can also develop a course for any specialty or group, so let us know what you need!

MEDICAL SPANISH Four-Day Retreat Seminars

Medical Spanish Workshops meet from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. $300 each or take two Medical Workshops for $550. Materials and Lunch included.
$1875 (4-Day Medical Spanish Retreat). Nurses are eligible for 8 CR's for an additional $75. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # 12425.
